Features the simple sugar d-mannose which occurs naturally in cranberries and pineapple. Tiny amounts of d-mannose are metabolized and the remainder is excreted via the urine. As it is flushed from the body, d-mannose coats E. coli so it no longer sticks to urinary tract walls and is washed away with normal urination.
