Quadrille Fabric: French Damask Reverse - Custom French Green on Tinted 100% Linen

The French have been making damask since before they called it French.

French Damask Reverse - the ground and figure exchanged, the traditional damask vocabulary inverted so the motif reads light against the color rather than color against light. Custom French Green on tinted 100% linen, 53 inches wide, 8-inch vertical repeat. Small for a damask, which means it tiles densely - more like a woven ground than a printed pattern, more like something you'd find on a chair in a room that has been properly considered than something that arrived yesterday.

This specific French Green was chosen by a designer who had opinions. It will not match standard Quadrille French Green. It is its own particular version of the color that has been making rooms feel finished since the 18th century.

Ten yards - a 6-yard piece and a 4-yard piece, same dyelot. Handprinted in America on Belgian ground.

The reverse was the right call. It always is.

NB: THIS IS A CUSTOM "FRENCH GREEN" - IT ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT BE THE SAME AS A STANDARD QUADRILLE FRENCH GREEN.  Designers may choose any name they like when ordering a custom color.

There are 10 yards total - 6 yard and 4 yard pieces from the same dyelot.  Please make sure these cuts will work for your project.
